Step #1. Open your file explorer in your Android phone and select the image in the file explorer and go to “rename.” Step #2. Change the extension from an image extension (.jpg, .png etc) to .doc. Step #3. If you have done this correctly, the image’s thumbnail icon will change to the preview for a document or generic file. Step #4. Open WhatsApp, Tap on the Attachment icon and select the Document option. Step #5. Select the image with its extension renamed. Step #6. That’s it. You’ve sent a high quality, full-resolution photo in WhatsApp. Unlike the default option, this will not result in a reduction in picture quality. Step #7. Tell the recipient to download, go to file explorer and change the file extension back to the original image extension. The image will then be visible without any compression. Sending images without compression can substantially increase the size of your WhatsApp backups. It’s better to only do this for important pictures. Also, keep in mind that you won’t be able to send a picture exceeding WhatsApp’s maximum attachment size using this technique.
